Last week, Film students had an excellent opportunity to learn from film professionals in a panel discussion. The panel included:
– Elan Mastai – Screenwriter of five feature films, including the soon-to be-released THE F WORD, starring Daniel Radcliffe
– Craig David Wallace – Co-Creator and Executive Producer of the supernatural-comedy, TODD & THE BOOK OF PURE EVIL
– Jason Lapeyre – Director of I DECLARE WAR, an official selection of the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival
– Alexandra Mircheff – Story Editor and Writer on the first season of CBC’s cop drama CRACKED
– Stephen Philipson – Editor of GROWN UP MOVIE STAR (prize-winner at Sundance 2010) and the NBC crime thriller HANNIBAL.
The discussion was fun, funny, candid and very helpful in guiding students in their next steps as they prepare to make the decision for film school, a bachelor degree at university or whether to join the film industry directly. The film department looks forward to more opportunities like this to come.
