Tour 4 Humanity: Last Chance to Get on the Bus

Screen Shot 2015-02-03 at 2.55.07 PMThe Tour 4 Humanity is coming to the ESA Parking lot on Monday February 23rd and Tuesday February 24th.

All students currently enrolled in Grade 10 Canadian History will have the opportunity to get on the bus with their classes, as will students taking World Religions and ModWest (History).

We are inviting any and all other members of the ESA Community – Staff, Grade 11 and 12 students, Parents, Grads – to join us during the lunchhour on Tuesday Feb 24th.  You will be treated to the same educational experience as the Grade 10 History students.

If you would like to attend during either of these lunchhour sessions, please fill out this Google Form to advise.

A brief description of the session is as follows:

THE CANADIAN EXPERIENCE explores both Canadian history – “ the tolerance timeline” and current events. Some of the historical topics include slavery, Residential Schools, immigration policies and the internment of Japanese Canadians. Discussions surrounding the Internet and cyber-bullying, as well as current hate crime statistics bring the session back to present day. Real world heroes, such as Anne Frank, Simon Wiesenthal, Mother Theresa and Mahatma Gandhi serve as inspiration and motivation for students to begin making a positive difference.

Additional information about the Tour 4 Humanity may be found at the Friends of Simon Wiesenthal website: https://tourforhumanity.com

Any other questions, please contact Ms. Wray in the Library at enid.wray@tdsb.on.ca.

Please note that there is a maximum capacity of 30 per session, so invitation is on a first come first served basis.  You will be contacted one way or the other.
