The roofing project is definitely causing more disruptions than expected; I will try to keep you informed on how we are dealing with issues arising from this renovation.
Today, we had a health and safety inspector in the school to look at the work site and provide some recommendations to improve our work and study environment while this project is ongoing. Tonight, we have a team of Board personnel here to seal the windows in the cafeteria and a few other affected areas with a poly film; this film should more completely seal the windows from air leaks. During the evening, we will be leaving all circulation systems on so as much fresh air as possible can be drawn into the building and flush out the asphalt smells. All doors are also being inspected for gaps and/or poor sweeps (those are the rubber strips at the bottom of doors to keep out the weather). We are still awaiting more charcoal filter fans to help clear and clean the air. Finally, we are moving classes that are affected by the strong smells to areas that are not (or are less) affected.
