Special Presentation: Taking the Big Leap-Easing Your Student’s Transition to Post-Secondary Education- May 25, 2016; ESA Library 7:00-8:30 pm

Please join us for a special presentation by Dr. Jesmen Mendoza on transitional issues students and parents might face when students are moving from high school to post-secondary. This presentation will address important transitional issues for students such as: separating from family and familiar people; managing greater freedom and flexibility; increased personal responsibility; managing financial resources and adjusting to university culture. This presentation will also discuss issues related to mental health, substance use and services available for students in post-secondary settings.

Dr. Mendoza has been a Psychologist at Ryerson Psychology Department Student Health and Wellness (Centre for Student Development and Counselling) since 2004. His specialities are personal counselling, social anxiety, depression, sexual orientation, abuse and violence in relationship and stress management.
