The Enhancing Equity Task Force Report will be presented to TDSB trustees at its Wednesday, December 13th board meeting. The trustees will have a chance to ask questions of the consultant Liz Rykert, who wrote the report.
Trustee Pamela Gough has requested that ESA parents send her any questions in advance that they wish her to address at the meeting during her allotted time. Please e-mail the trustee at Pamela.Gough@tdsb.on.ca with your questions by the end of the day today.
Parents can attend the board meeting at 5050 Yonge St. in person or they can watch the discussion live stream on the TDSB website at www.tdsb.on.ca. The board meeting begins at 7 pm and the task force report is expected to be presented at 8 pm. But this will not be an opportunity for public presentations.
The Director of Education has recommended that the trustees receive the task force report and refer it to the TDSB staff for review and analysis. Following the review, the Director of Education is expected to go to the Planning and Priorities Committee on Wednesday, January 31, 2018 with next steps. The public will have an opportunity at that time to make presentations by giving notice several days in advance to Denise Joseph Dowers at denise.joseph-dowers@tdsb.on.ca.
Pamela Gough will also be hosting a ward meeting on the task force report at ESA on Monday, January 22, 2018 at 7 pm. The TDSB’s lead staff person, Jim Spyropoulos, will be attending to answer parents’ questions and listen to their feedback.
