Attention photography, film and visual arts students -BROOKS INSTITUTE in California will be visiting ESA May 7th

Nomi Morris, Program Chair for Visual Journalism at Brooks Institute in California, will give a special presentation on careers in photography and digital media to students, staff and guests on Tuesday May 7th at 11:28-12;30 in the library. Earlier this month Javier Manzano, a former student of Morris’ college program, won the Pulitzer Prize for Feature Photography. Morris herself is a veteran journalist who has been a correspondent in the Middle East, a TIME Magazine correspondent in Berlin, and a writer for the Los Angeles Times, Newsweek, Maclean’s and The Toronto Star.

Brooks Institute has been a leader in educating professional photographers from around the world for 68 years. In addition to Photography, and the Visual Journalism program, Brooks also grants degrees in Film and Graphic Design.

Morris will be showing examples of student work, saying a few words about multimedia journalism and the photography business today, and opening up for questions and discussion about visual media arts and how creative students can earn a living from what they are passionate about.
