ESA Joins the Toronto Symphony Once Again!

Next week, the Music Theatre Department joins forces with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra once again for the Holiday Pops concerts on December 8th and 9th. Under the direction of Principal Pops Conductor Steven Reineke, the choir will sing a number of holiday favourites and are also joined by a group of circus aerial and acrobat performers to bring the music to physical life as well! ESA family and friends can receive a 30% discount to the 8:00 evening performances on Dec. 8 and 9 by using the promo code “ESA” when ordering online or by phone. There is also a 2:00 matinee on Dec. 9th.

The choir will also be performing as part of a local fundraiser for The Stop Community Food Kitchen on Sunday Dec. 6th at Runnymede United Church (432 Runnymede Road). The event is a reading of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, featuring numerous celebrity readers such as CBC personalities Susan Ormiston and Gill Deacon, along with stars from Soulpepper and Shaw theatre companies. Tickets are available at www.runnymedeunited.org.

For parents of choir members, students are required at Runnymede on Sunday from 6:00 to approximately 9:15 for rehearsal and performance. For the TSO, the students will be in rehearsals all day long at Roy Thomson Hall on  Dec. 8, followed by the evening performance. They will attend classes in the morning of the 9th and then travel to Roy Thomson Hall at lunch for the afternoon and evening performances. Details for all of these events can be found in the attached letter and permission form, which was sent home last week.

Hope you can join us for one or both of these events!
