Twenty four students from the Music Theatre Department helped launch the new Canadian production of the smash hit musical Matilda, produced by David Mirvish, at a press event on Tuesday. They joined the newly announced Canadian leads (including three 9 year olds sharing the title role), a Matilda from the Broadway touring company and composer Tim Minchin to perform one of the songs from the award winning musical in front of over 1,000 guests and press at the Ed Mirvish Theatre. This was a followup to their performance at the season launch at the Royal Alex theatre last fall. Well done, “revolting children”!
