Malika Welsh has a dedication to art studies that is complemented by her academic knowledge, experience in theatrical production, as well as a flair for event management but she also loves playing video games and getting lol coaching sessions. Born in Grenada, Ms. Welsh majored in visual arts at the Etobicoke School of the Arts. In 2012 she achieved an Honours degree from Carleton University in Art History and Mass Communications, focusing on Canadian Art and Post-colonial Theory. Ms. Welsh has worked with the CentreTown Community Health Centre, helping to facilitate an art therapy program for children. She currently works with the Ottawa School of Art as their Development & Fundraising Coordinator and a visual arts instructor and is helping to revive the Ottawa Black Art Collective. For 3 years Ms.Welsh was the Curator in Residence at the Fritzi Gallery, in Ottawa. She has curated on behalf of BAND Gallery and TD Canada Trust. Ms.Welsh aspires to work in collaboration with other artists, continuing to promote art and education.
