Through the incredibly generous donations from a parent of an ESA alumni and a smaller group of donors, ESA welcomed two brand new pianos – including a concert grand piano! The last new piano arrived at ESA in 1986 and sadly our instruments have struggled to offer the quality our musicians so richly deserve. After a conversation with Alan Merriam (Merriam Pianos and father to an ESA alumni) last year, a small group of donors from outside the immediate school family agreed to cover the balance after an offer of two professional level Kawai pianos at less than 25% of their retail price. These were delivered today and will be ready for our school to use and treasure this fall. An appreciation event for our donors will be scheduled at a later date.
