Poetry Contest: The ESA Library Poetry Contest

  • Allons! we must not stop here…
Walt Whitman, Song of the Open Road

The road will take you anywhere. It’s time to celebrate the roads we travel, the roads we wish to travel, the roads we’ve found and made and cherished for decades–this year, National Poetry Month will celebrate the road.

In honour of National Poetry Month, the ESA Library is sponsoring a student poetry contest.

Poems must:

  • be on the theme “The Road”
  • be titled;
  • not have been previously published;
  • be formatted for 8.5″ x 11″ paper; and,
  • be no longer than 50 lines.

All entries must be submitted by no later than Friday April 29th.

  • Entries should be submitted via e-mail to Ms. Wray, in the Library.
  • Send e-mails to: enid.wray@tdsb.on.ca

The top three entries will each receive a collection of poetry, as well as publication on the ESsays Creative Writing Blog, and publication in our print volume.
