Do you know of a local CONCERT or EVENT in NOVEMBER 2018 that would benefit from a *FREE CHOIR PERFORMANCE?
I’m planning an ESA Community Choir (“FACES”) session for the fall – looking for a community or charity event/concert we can participate in as a culminating performance. It promises to be a good sized group of 40-50 adults, based in Etobicoke. We’ll prepare about 15 minutes of music (its only six weeks of rehearsals). We can also do 2-3 sing-along numbers with the audience and offer solo/duets if you want more. Music selections can (at this point) be tailored to your event.
This is a sessional community Choir with a big range of singing experience, from beginner to pro – they sound GREAT, but it’s not a professional Choir. We’d typically do music theatre, light choral and popular music in 2 or 3 parts, usually accompanied by piano and sometimes percussion (if our dear percussionist friend is available).
Ideally, the event would:
– take place in mid-to-late November 2018, in Etobicoke or at least in Toronto West of the Don Valley
– be related to youth and/or the arts
– accommodate a 50 person Choir with risers or stairs for sight lines
– have a tuned piano
– in a large indoor space, preferably with an acoustic (like a church)
– have focus on the Choir for the performance (not background music)
– a public event that would benefit from tickets sold to our choristers families and friends
– be non-profit
