Lead by Brett Carroll, director of the Burbank High Vocal Music Association in Burbank, California, this workshop will demonstrate new approaches to teaching vocal technique for your show choir. Using students from the Burbank High program, Mr. Carroll will be teaching his system and approach to creating healthy and substantive choral sound in the show choir format.

Brett Carroll has served as a conductor, musical director, and arranger for live entertainment productions in professional venues across the U.S. and overseas. He has produced and recorded industrial and commercial music for such well-known companies as Ford, Buick, General Foods, Dow Chemical, and Unocal 76 . His music for live productions has been heard in shows from Asia to Europe as well as at the White House Easter Egg Roll in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Carroll is an avid clinician and has been a guest conductor/clinician for numerous nationally ranked high school choral programs as well as state school music organizations. Recently, Brett was the director of the Missouri All-State Show Choir and taught clinics at the Missouri Choral Director’s Association Convention for teachers and college students- as well as adjudicating at the FAME National Show Choir Championships 2011 in Indianapolis.
As the Director of the Vocal Music Association at Burbank High School in Burbank, CA., Mr. Carroll conducts 8 vocal ensembles including 5 concert/show choirs who have been awarded top honors at various festivals from New York to Los Angeles. The program continues to strive for artistic innovation and integrity each year through performances of newly commissioned pieces and choreography. Last year at Burbank High, the five competitive show choirs “In Sync”, “Impressions”, “Out of the Blue”, “Sound Dogs”, and “Sapphire” garnered 45 trophies and awards throughout the 2010-11 show choir season! Mr. Carroll is a member of SAG, ACDA, MENC, Chorus America, and the Southern California Vocal Association.
