ESA has a long tradition – relationship – with the Daily Bread Food Bank.
- It started with the (then Grade 13 – OAC) World Issues classes doing workshops and taking field trips many years ago when working on course units addressing Food Security.
- The relationship has continued over the years – in many forms – with the Film Department being the lead banner carrier these days, now having raised approx. 5000 lbs of food.
As you may be aware, Loblaw is offering $25 cash cards by way of recompense as the result of an investigation into bread price fixing.
- Local financial columnist Gail Vaz-Oxlade has suggested that folks register for the cash card and then donate them to the Daily Bread Food Bank.
Should you be planning on registering, and should you be in a position to be able to donate your cash card to the Daily Bread Food Bank…
- Consider sending it in to the ESA Library and we will deliver them – en masse – to the Daily Bread Food Bank as a show of support from the ESA Community.
Did you pre-register for a Loblaw Card (re bread price fixing)?
- If so, you’ll have received the registration e-mail yesterday afternoon.
- If not, follow this link to register.
Many thanks in advance for any consideration with respect to this initiative.
