After premiering over 45 films on Wednesday to a packed house at the Queensway Cineplex, ESA Film would like to congratulate its filmmakers and thank its audience for their continued support.  The winners of this year’s BSSFF awards are:

Best Cinematography – The Road Ahead – Jordan Martins and Diego Romero

Best Sound Design and Editing – Swimming Through Jello – Ava Marucci-Campbell

Best Writing – Do I Terrify? – Tessa Hill and Nara Wrigglesworth

Best Animated Film – Fear the Electron – Doc Sims Liptrott and Rafferty Blumberg

Best Experimental Film – Once More – Thomas Adshead

Best Narrative Film – Hands Off Mahjong – Bayden Chiu and Alex Silva

And the winner of the prestigious 2019 Audience Choice award is Omneya Tollar’s Hair Drying the Puddle out and Away – a beautiful and thoughtful exploration of what and how it means to be happy.
