After screening over 90 films over the past three nights, Film Week finished with a bang. Michael Seater – ESA alum and iconic Canadian TV actor and director – presented the 12th annual Shaftesbury “Best in Show” awards.
Honourable mentions went to Gabe Hurtz, Rachel Donaldson, Quinn Lytle and Ashley Canturk. The jury found their films to be deeply entertaining and professionally produced.
As for the winners, the “Best in Show” awards went to:
Grade 9: Cuando Yo Me Vaja – Presley Flores-Holz
Grade 10: The Storm that Killed Douglas Campbell – Lucas Bellsmith
Grade 11: Still Life – Maxford Jeffs
Grade 12: Two Steps Forward, Three Steps Back – Charlotte Alarie
And while Film Week may be over, there is even more ESA Film on the platter if you have the appetite. The Grad Gala happening next Tuesday at the Revue Theatre in Roncesvalles features our two award winners, plus films produced by the entirety of our graduating class. Join us for what promises to be a really special evening.
