Toronto Public Library: Volunteer Readers Needed

The IBBY (International Board on Books for Young People) Collection for Young People with Disabilities, located at North York Central Library Children’s Department (Toronto Public Library), is looking for readers to help read and evaluate submissions for the 2017 IBBY Outstanding List.

Deadline: before Canadian Thanksgiving (Oct. 10, 2016)

What to do: You will be asked to read the whole book, evaluate and write short answers to the evaluation form. We will send info about this IBBY project and criteria for evaluation.

How: You would need to be able to pick up and return a reviewing copy of the titles at a TPL location.

What: While we have books in English, we particularly need readers for Greek, Japanese, German, Danish, Norwegian, Finnish, Icelandic, Russian, Arabic, Spanish, Catalan, Galician, Basque, and Turkish.

Why: We do need your help with this project but it is a great opportunity to see what is emerging in children’s publishing outside of North America.

We hope you will be interested to learn more about IBBY and about this reference collection. Check out IBBY’s webpage.
