Volunteer Opportunity for Dorothy Ley Hospice 11th Annual Hike for Hospice

Student Volunteers,

The Dorothy Ley Hospice offers community and residential care to people living with life-limiting illness or loss. Our programs and services meet the physical, emotional, spiritual and practical needs of individuals and their family. Last year the Hospice provided care and support to more than 2500 people. All services are offered at no charge to the individual thanks to the generosity of donors.

Our 11th Hike for Hospice will take place on Sunday May 5, 2013 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at 220 Sherway Drive. We expect a great turnout this year and would like to ask for your help. We are in need of volunteers for this event ranging from help with registration and set up to route marshals and take down. Every volunteer will be provided with a free BBQ lunch.

We would like to make a special request for any music students who could come out and play for us on the day of the hike. It would be wonderful to have some of your talented musicians play at our opening ceremony and to cheer on our hikers along the route.

We also require anyone who has face painting skills that could help us on the day of the Hike between 11am-2pm. We will provide all of the supplies.

You are all welcome to participate in our event. Anyone who raises $100 or more will receive a T-shirt and a chance to win an IPad. There is also a prize for the top individual fundraiser and for the top fundraising team.

Please call Anne Stoiko at 416 626-0116 ext. 235 or Melody Courtney at ext 236 if you are able to help.

Your support and passion would be much appreciated.
