MJM Productions will be filming party scenes in two homes in Carlisle, about 26 km away from you, tentatively planned for the evenings of Oct. 18-20 (4pm – midnight TBC). Up to 50 Volunteer teenagers are needed. It’s a great opportunity, a wonderful learning experience, and a meaningful way to contribute.

MJM is a production company in Hamilton. Each year they film a movie on behalf of MADD Canada. It’s a School Assembly Program that is presented personally by MADD Reps to about a million kids in middle & high schools across Canada. The 30 minute drama is followed by about 15 mins of pretty hard-hitting scenes of real people talking about the losses of their loved ones. MADD Canada Reps follow it up immediately with an empowering discussion with the kids. You may have seen last year’s program “Damages” at ESA? MADD hopes that by presenting their message in a creative and engaging way, teenagers will be encouraged to think twice and plan ahead when they’re making social plans…and save lives.
Synopsis of this year’s production, “After Party”, follows two nice kids ~ best friends Kelly and Natalie, as they get ready to attend their school’s fall dance. One boy the girls have a crush on is turned away from the dance because of the booze on his breath, so they all agree to head to the after party instead. The drama unfolds as various kids consume too much alcohol or drugs, while a few grapple with trying to “do the right thing” and keep their friends safe. The film ends with an ironic twist, as we learn that it’s not only the out-of-control kids who suffer the consequences of their irresponsible actions.
