EXO by Fonda Lee
- Wow! SciFi is not my genre of choice, but Wow! This book is one wild ride.
- Things to love about this book include: the worldbuilding; the (black) humour (and word play); the imagery; the general believability of it all… the ‘real feel’; the scathing social commentary and appreciation of the complicated morality of life
- Then there are the characters… both the good, the bad and the ugly (the zhree) – the author does bad guys really well (including parents!)
- There is nothing predictable about this book, and while there is clearly a sequel to come, this book absolutely stands alone on its own legs and its own merit.
